Intra-Linking as Promotion

Do you know Yaro Starak’s blog, Entrepreneur’s Journey? I follow it because he’s always testing things. I dropped by today looking for something on search engine optimization and found the most-like Yaro tip.

Yaro calls it intra-linking. He places keyword links at the bottom of each page. These key content words link to other pages in his blog. He chooses words that he uses often in his entries.

The idea is that this will get search engines to fully spider his blog.

It’s a short post, and an easy thing to try. The post is called A SEO tip.

He also offers up a link to SEO CHAT which I’ve copied here in case his blog catches fire one day.

    Wow that’s really is a good idea. I never know just by intralinking enhance the better search engine spidering.

    I’ve been a big fan of Yaro’s for quite a while - the guy knows what he’s talking about …he loves a long post ;-)

    Probably for seo types it’s something you learn early on, using keywords in your anchor.

    Sometimes the smallest things are forgotten as we try out new seo tips and tricks. It’s basic but is proven to have real seo effects.

    BTW Liz, I love how you respond to every comment made here. Even though I’m more or less doing the same at my blog I’m going to write a post about it tonight sourcing you as my inspiration.

    It’s not a conversation if one person talks and walks away, leaving everyone else to comment in a vacuum.

    Yaro is cool. Isn’t he. Did you read his test about the $1M web page? I’m thinking of doing a post on that.

    Aww, gee guys, my head is going to explode, no more gratuitous props okay!

    I agree with Martin on the keeping up with comments, ahh, comment. It’s something I did at the start of blogging back when I was just getting my first comments but lately a few of my readers have been leaving comments almost as long as my posts (and that is saying something!) so I’m having trouble keeping up. I could, if I don’t be careful, spend good chunks of my day commenting. I believe you do that already right Martin? ;)

    Hi Yaro and Martin,
    I look at it this way, I could spend up to half my time commenting if what’s going on in the comment section is adding serious content to the blog. Since this blog is about successful blogging. These comments we’re having right now are like case studies of how it could (and hopefully should) be done.) So I write one less post, my readers still get quality content just in another form. And better yet a form in which they get to be a part.

    Oh yes, definitely made me laugh, although I’m quite used to Martin’s comments about the length of my blog posts. I suspect a lot of people don’t finish reading my articles but as long as Martin does I can sleep soundly. You do right Martin?
