About a week ago I posed a question over on my own blog Quantity vs Quality – Which is Better?
I was curious. Given a choice, which one would bloggers prefer?
In order to be able to attach a number value to the answer I put up a little poll. Now it certainly isn’t a scientific survey. But it does give us a little insight into how bloggers think (at least the ones who read my blog, anyway).
The discussion in the comments section of the post was lively. Some folks wanted more than two choices. “Both” seemed to be a popular demand as several folks really like to see “more and better”.
But I purposely forced a choice to be made to see which way folks would go if they had to decide between one or the other.
The results were overwhelming. Unanimous, in fact.
Quality wins. Every. Single. Time.
SOBCon ’07 is High Quality
And that is good news for the folks who will be attending SOBCon ’07.
There are lots of blogger oriented conferences you could go to this year. Some of them are absolutely huge, like the recent South By Southwest for example.
By all accounts that was an excellent conference. And BIG. They say that more than 100,000 folks attended the various events associated with SXSW this year!
SOBCon will be a contrastingly different conference experience.
With seating limited to 250 attendees and an intentionally interactive format, SOBCon will provide an opportunity to truly connect with some bloggers who are already quite influential as well as scores of up and coming folks who are well on their way to becoming very influential.
If you are a business person, would you rather brush past thousands who might never think about your business again?
Or would you rather seize the opportunity to connect with a smaller number of folks who are more likely to see the high quality you have to offer and become passionate converts to your product or service? (Oh, and tell others about it along the way in a very public public international publishing format.)
As a blogger would you rather be lost in the crowd? Or would you rather get some quality time with some experts who are committed to answer your questions and help you take your blog to the next level?
Seth Godin has informed us that Small Is the New Big anyway.
And didn’t some guy named Jesus turn the world on it’s ear a couple thousand years ago by starting with just 12 close friends?
Bottom Line
The bottom line is this. Bloggers are all about quality. And that is exactly the reason you want to be sure to get one of those 250 seats before they disappear.
It doesn’t matter if you are a blogger yourself or you want to get in front of passionate bloggers.
SOBCon ’07 is the conference you want to attend year.
