Chris Says He Wasn’t Abducted
Cartoon characters are party animals, and they attract the best kind of party goers. Memories of characters that filled up our lives lasted the entire conversation. And, as usual, the Link Leak virus hit again. The Link Leak Virus is a special strain of the indie virus with blogtipping mutations that occur in threes. We didn’t seem to mind though.
Chris was back from his alien abduction, but he was acting a little strangely. I can’t say exactly how because my DSL went. That meant I had to play via dial-up, so my perceptions were markedly slow.
Welcome to all of the new folks who came. It was great fun having you!

Nevertheless, Iââ¬â¢m beat. My eyelids are closing and Iââ¬â¢ve got BBQ on the brain. Literally. My wife just smacked me with a piece of BBQ pork I was trying to eat. She got down those stairs FAST when she heard the fridge open. So I need to fix up my head, try and sneak a bite to eat and crash.
Next week I hope to be in better form! Night!

AL ââ¬â Iââ¬â¢m not the cook, but I think what we did was cook the crust for a little while first, then add the toppings and let it cook a while longer on a low, low fire. But, Iââ¬â¢ll have to ask mister when he gets back.
It was about 12 years ago and while it was fun to figure that stuff out (we did a corn suffle (sp) also) we never did it again once we had the oven back.

Ok, another questionââ¬Â¦
Why do the old cartoon male characters have no pants and the female have no tops?
229
Advice Librarian Says:
August 22nd, 2006 at 10:08 pm e
Itââ¬â¢s because pants are really, really, hard to draw and worse to animate – and the techniques used in early animation didnââ¬â¢t lend themselves very well to spending the time needed to do it right, I think.

As long as weââ¬â¢re all putting in our favorites, one suddenly springs to mind. It maybe only ran a season or two and it was in the mid-70s, and it was called ââ¬ÅThe Adventures of Waldo Kittyââ¬Â, and it combined two of my favorite things; animation andââ¬Â¦well, kitties.
The format was pretty simple really; live action kitties with voices over that you were supposed to believe that the kitties in the film are saying to themselves and each other. There was Waldo, who was a black-and-white mediumhair who was kind of timid but had a wonderful fantasy life (like Walter Mitty, of course), a Persian who was Waldoââ¬â¢s putative girlfriend (itââ¬â¢s always a Persian, you know), and a big brute of a snub-nosed bull terrier who was always pushing poor Waldo around.
Theyââ¬â¢d have a situation where Waldo had a a problem, then the live action would dissolve to a cartoon where Waldo would play a heroic persona-anything from a kitty pirate to a kitty Captain Kirk-then heââ¬â¢d get clever, inspired by his inner adventure, and beat the bully and win the girl.
Real sweet stuff. Brings a tear to my eye right now just thinking of it.

Waldo Kitty! Samuel John!
That just reminded me of . . .
MIghty Mouse!!!
But still the cartoon that comes to mind first when people mention cartoons is this. Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam are in the Old West. They meet in the aisle of a moving train.
Yosimite Sam puts his hands at ready near his guns and says to Bugs, ââ¬ÅDraw!ââ¬Â
Bugs pulls a pad of paper out of nowhere and draw a picture of a gun.
