Cat Wentworth
Late on Friday, I got an email from the designer-publisher-superwoman, Cat Wentworth, who owns Designers who Blog. You may know her from the Successful Blog community. She’s commented here often with her insights. She pointed us to the Great Find article on C.R.A.P. design by Mike Rundle, and she stops by for Tuesday Open Mike Night whenever she has a chance.
Designers who Blog is a showcase for creative bloggers. Cat is great at making sure the world knows about talent in her own creative and wonderful way. In this particular email, Cat said she was going to feature Successful Blog in her showcase. How cool of a turnabout is that?
What happened next was too exciting. People who know how laid back I can be would have paid money to see how I reacted. I’m not kidding, really. My IT husband was laughing through the whole thing.
My Birthday Comes Early
As part of her feature, Cat makes a unique banner that becomes part of the Designers who Blog rotator .php. The idea is so cool. When she asked if I would like to be part of that, how could I possibly say anything, but what would you like me to do?
I sent Cat what she needed to make her banner and, in what seemed like minutes, she sent me this.
Here’s an edited version of my response.
Oh my God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cat that is soooo coooollllllTHAT IS SO GORGEOUS!!!!
. . . I don’t show this much enthusiasm about anything that has to do with me. You are soooo good at this. Oh DAMN!! I feel like when my son was born.
You might not be able to hear it in what I said, but my husband will attest to the fact that I was blushing and that I had my left hand to my chest.
Cat knew that I’d been talking about re-focusing the branding here at Successful Blog, and that I’d been thinking how a new header might be key to that. A few minutes after I responded to her banner, I had a new header for Successful Blog — the one you see up there right now. What a fabulous early birthday present.
Here’s a link so that you can read Cat’s feature and get Cat’s retelling of the story.
Thank you so much, Cat Wentworth. You are one special human being.

PS. Of course, now the design needs some tweaking. We know that but, we only had so much time for the two things happen at once. . . . . It’s always something. Isn’t it? I love blogging. Don’t you?
