Walking onto the beach on Friday morning we were greeted by the picture below. There have been some big storms and seas that have deposited many uprooted trees onto the sand. This one was very special as my first reaction was that there is a man with a hat. Des saw a rower in his scull!

I think it is amazing how nature presents art and visions for us.

Beach Notes: Boardwalk – Beached

On Friday after a week of rain and no morning beach walks, we saw a piece of boardwalk sitting on the sand. We had last seen this being used as a boat ramp where the sand had been washed away from under the concrete ramp. The piece of boardwalk had been moved or carried 100 metres or more my the tides.

I love it when I find a feather on the beach. It reminds me that there are angels around and something special is coming. it always takes me back to listening to Paulo Coelho, author of The Achemist, saying that when he finds a feather, it is a signal for him to start a new book.

Sand Bubbler Crab Art

I was walking on the beach and saw what to me looked like a butterfly. When I put the photo onto the computer I saw it could be a bow-tie. Nature is amazing. This pattern was made by a small sand bubbler crab who live in burrows in the sand. At low tide they scour the sand for food and these bubble patterns are the result of their foraging.

Beach Notes: Change of Routine Brings Rainbows

Rainbow Bay Beach

Last Saturday we went for an afternoon walk at Coolangatta Beach as out morning walk at Rainbow Bay Beach had been cut short by rain. As we were walking along I saw a rainbow emerging from the horizon, I shouted out to Des: “look a rainbow”. What was amazing was it was like a ball.

We then watched as the rainbow formed into an arc. Sometimes it is good to change your routine, you never know what you will learn or see.
